{"id":21,"date":"2016-05-22T16:37:31","date_gmt":"2016-05-22T16:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salemsayers.org\/test\/?page_id=21"},"modified":"2020-06-04T19:11:24","modified_gmt":"2020-06-04T19:11:24","slug":"iamnew","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/salemsayers.org\/?page_id=21","title":{"rendered":"Help I&#8217;m New"},"content":{"rendered":"<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"2\"><strong>Attending a church for the first time can be intimidating.<br \/>\nIt doesn\u2019t have to be!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We know that when it comes to choosing a place to worship, you have a lot of choices.\u00a0 We also know that it can be intimidating and awkward to visit a church for the first time.\u00a0 We want your experience at Salem Sayers to be pleasant and pain-free so that you can worship and study God\u2019s Word.\u00a0 And so you\u2019ll want to come back!<\/p>\n<p>This tab is designed to answer some of your questions before you hit the front door.\u00a0 If you need more information please don\u2019t hesitate to contact our staff in the church office.\u00a0 You can either call (210) 649-2153 or email <a href=\"mailto:joni@salemsayers.org\">joni@salemsayers.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At SSBC our hearts desire is to bring glory to God as we exalt our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by worshipping in spirit and in truth.\u00a0 We worship God through congregational singing, Scripture reading, prayer, and giving, preaching and personal response.\u00a0 We hope to see you soon!<\/p>\n<p><strong>About SSBC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Salem Sayers we connect in three ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To God through our worship services.<\/li>\n<li>To each other through Sunday School.<\/li>\n<li>To the world through service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We invite you to take the first step in getting to know us by connecting with us during our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Or, you may want to connect with others in Bible Study during one of our Sunday morning Sunday School classes or small groups at 9:15 a.m.\u00a0 There are groups for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Our greeters will be happy to assist you in finding the small group that\u2019s right for each member of your family.<\/p>\n<p>At SSBC we have a heart for reaching out to the lost, in service.\u00a0 We\u2019d be glad to discuss with you how you can get connected to a service ministry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to Expect<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What\u2019s the music like?<br \/>\nWe sing the great hymns of the faith and newer expressions of faith through contemporary worship songs.<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s the preaching like?<br \/>\nOur Pastor preaches Christ-centered sermons, explaining God\u2019s Word and how it relates to our lives.<\/li>\n<li>How do people dress?<br \/>\nWear whatever makes you comfortable.\u00a0 Some folks wear coat and tie or dresses and others wear jeans &amp; t-shirts.\u00a0 There\u2019s no dress code.<\/li>\n<li>Is there something for my kids?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Currently, our small groups are not meeting so we welcome your children to be in worship services with you.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attending a church for the first time can be intimidating.
