Help I’m New

Attending a church for the first time can be intimidating.
It doesn’t have to be!

We know that when it comes to choosing a place to worship, you have a lot of choices.  We also know that it can be intimidating and awkward to visit a church for the first time.  We want your experience at Salem Sayers to be pleasant and pain-free so that you can worship and study God’s Word.  And so you’ll want to come back!

This tab is designed to answer some of your questions before you hit the front door.  If you need more information please don’t hesitate to contact our staff in the church office.  You can either call (210) 649-2153 or email joni@salemsayers.org.

At SSBC our hearts desire is to bring glory to God as we exalt our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by worshipping in spirit and in truth.  We worship God through congregational singing, Scripture reading, prayer, and giving, preaching and personal response.  We hope to see you soon!

About SSBC

At Salem Sayers we connect in three ways:

  • To God through our worship services.
  • To each other through Sunday School.
  • To the world through service.

We invite you to take the first step in getting to know us by connecting with us during our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Or, you may want to connect with others in Bible Study during one of our Sunday morning Sunday School classes or small groups at 9:15 a.m.  There are groups for everyone.

Our greeters will be happy to assist you in finding the small group that’s right for each member of your family.

At SSBC we have a heart for reaching out to the lost, in service.  We’d be glad to discuss with you how you can get connected to a service ministry.

What to Expect

  1. What’s the music like?
We sing the great hymns of the faith and newer expressions of faith through contemporary worship songs.
  2. What’s the preaching like?
Our Pastor preaches Christ-centered sermons, explaining God’s Word and how it relates to our lives.
  3. How do people dress?
Wear whatever makes you comfortable.  Some folks wear coat and tie or dresses and others wear jeans & t-shirts.  There’s no dress code.
  4. Is there something for my kids?
Currently, our small groups are not meeting so we welcome your children to be in worship services with you.
